At its 197th General Assembly, the Presidium of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences awarded the Academy Prize to Ádám Dénes, head of the Neuroimmunology research group, for his versatile and highly successful scientific activities. Hearty congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Indeed, we have not been an academic research institute for several years, however, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is still the leading institute that brings together Hungarian scientists, and its prestigious award is one of the greatest honors for any Hungarian researcher.

The Academy Award is not a lifetime achievement award. It is given to researchers or research groups who have achieved great achievements in the last few years. Ádám Dénes and his research group have published "results that are of outstanding biomedical significance in terms of both methodology and results, and that cross the boundaries of several disciplines in the study of the bilateral interactions between the nervous system and the immune system, and that is of outstanding interdisciplinary significance", "which, through targeted modulation of immune processes in the nervous system, pave the way for more effective diagnosis and therapy of these diseases. Their work is fundamental research whose justification and importance need no explanation, as their findings also help to understand and treat brain events and symptom complexes such as stroke.

We congratulate Adam and his team and wish them further discoveries and success in their important work!
